PetVet Care Centers’ Paddock Park Animal Care Center in Ocala, Florida seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks including cleaning equipment, feeding and grooming patients, preparing surgery suites, restraining animals and performing clerical duties. Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a veterinary environment preferred
• Ability to work around animals, chemicals and potentially hazardous materials
• Physically strenuous role with lifting and constant motion

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients and greet clients
• Restrain and handle patients as directed by veterinarians and technicians
• Assist with medications, treatments and routine procedures
• Perform laboratory tests and radiographs
• Maintain hospital equipment and clean facilities
• Document medical records accurately and securely
• Promote hospital products and services and support patient education
• Adhere to safety and wellness regulations and respond to directions from DVM/LVT
