Job description

At VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Cardiology Team.

Compensation: $19 - $28 / hr

Schedule: Late Swing

We believe in high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care, achieved through dedication and learning. The position involves four 10-hour shifts, from 5:00 pm to 3:30 am or 8:00 pm to 6:30 am. This includes at least one weekend day (we are happy to accommodate those who want to work both Saturdays and Sundays).

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining medical records
• Preparing for and performing procedures and treatments
• Preparing medications and prescriptions
• Communicating with clients in person and over the phone
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Assisting in procedures
• Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets
• Assisting in other hospital areas as needed
