Responsibilities

• Assist with exams by gathering patient histories, vital signs and weights.
• Handle cats gently to ensure comfort during procedures.
• Collect samples, run in-house labs, and prepare external lab specimens.
• Assist with radiographs following safety procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor hospitalized cats and relay updates to the medical team.
• Greet clients, schedule appointments and support front desk duties.
• Provide clear client education with warmth and professionalism.
• Keep exam rooms and equipment clean, organized and stocked.
• Support teammates and assist with other duties as needed.

We’re hiring a Veterinary Assistant at our cat-only practice! Support our veterinarians and technicians with patient care, surgery, lab work, and client education. You’ll also help at the front desk, welcoming clients and scheduling appointments.

Pay $18 - $22

Join our cat-only practice as a Veterinary Assistant and help provide compassionate care tailored to our feline patients.

• Assist with exams by gathering patient histories, vital signs, and weights.
• Use gentle, cat-friendly handling to help patients feel comfortable.
• Collect samples, perform in-house lab testing, and prepare outside lab specimens.
• Assist with radiographs while following safety procedures.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor hospitalized cats and communicate patient updates to the medical team.
• Welcome clients, schedule appointments, and assist with front desk duties.
• Provide client education with warmth and professionalism.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, organized, and stocked.
• Support teammates and assist with other duties as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
