We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and technicians in providing exceptional care for our patients. The role involves assisting with patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, preparing prescriptions, performing routine laboratory work, educating clients, and assisting with surgical procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting veterinarians in medical and surgical tasks
• Taking histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams
• Preparing patients for surgery and monitoring during procedures
• Collecting samples and performing in-house lab tests
• Taking and developing radiographs
• Handling and restraining animals
• Administering medications and treatments as directed
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the facility
• Providing excellent client service and communication
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to work weekends as required
• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and over 25 pounds with assistance
• Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and PPE
• Basic math skills for medication calculations
