Banfield Pet Hospital seeks Veterinary Assistants who want to turn their love of pets into action. You will work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and clients to advocate for pets and educate on pet health. The role offers learning and development opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and associates and maintain continuity of high‑quality veterinary care.
• Maintain the flow of patients and communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.

Qualifications

Preferred Education/Licenses: Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Experience: Ability to perform all required NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program skills at a level that aids in practice efficiency.
