Job Description Summary

The Veterinary Assistant supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff, and maintaining the quality of veterinary care.

Preferred Education/Licenses:

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to perform all skills required by NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs to support practice efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining patient flow.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Perform or set up procedures under supervision.
• Adhere to hospital standards for safety and cleanliness.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other team members.
