Job description

Woodinville Animal Hospitalis looking for an experiencedVeterinary Assistantto become an integral part of our team, providing outstanding support to our veterinarians while helping deliver exceptional care and service to every patient and client.

This role is ideal for a skilled, adaptable assistant who enjoys a diverse caseload and is eager to expand their clinical knowledge. You'll have the opportunity to contribute across all areas of the hospital, including appointments, surgery, dentistry, patient treatments, and client education. We're seeking someone who is proactive, organized, and dependable—an individual who works efficiently in a busy environment, anticipates the needs of the team, communicates with professionalism, and is committed to creating a positive experience for patients, clients, and coworkers alike.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

  • Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
  • Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $21-25 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a full-time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 3+ years of veterinary assistant or related role preferred
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
    • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
    • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
    • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
    • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
    • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
    • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
    • Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service

We have multiple staff members who are fear free certified and prioritize gentle patient handling. We currently operate8am-6pm Monday-Friday, and typically have two to three doctors each day, with one performing surgery.
