North Windham Veterinary Hospital in Windham, ME is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our full‑service animal care team. You will assist with treatments, blood draws, urine collection, medications, radiographs, and day-to-day patient care under the guidance of the DVMs.

North Windam Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to our team. North Windham Veterinary Hospital is a spacious (6,000 square foot) state-of-the-art hospital. Serving the communities of Windham, Raymond, Casco, Gray, Standish, Westbrook, and greater Portland since 1989, the practice moved from its original location into the current hospital in 2007. We are a full-service dog and cat veterinary hospital that provides a wide range of services including preventative and wellness care, surgery, dentistry, pain management, sick patient diagnostics and medical care/daytime hospitalization, digital radiology (including dental), an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, including prescription diets. We pride ourselves on practicing thorough and gold standard medicine as well as developing long-standing relationships with our clients and patients. Veterinary Assistant

$18.50 - $22.00 an hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Executing treatment orders
• Performing blood draws
• Collecting urine samples - void, express, cystocentesis
• Administering medications - PO, IM, SQ, SL, IV
• Keeping cages clean and sanitized
• Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
• Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)
• Calculating medications mg/kg
• Creating a dosing schedule from the DVM orders
• Communicating with clients via phone and in-person
• Taking Radiographs, CBC, Chem, LYTES, Perform and read urinalysis
• Restraining animals
• Outpatient procedures
• Filling prescribed medications
