Position Overview

Piedmont Pets Veterinary Care, located in Warrenton, VA, has been serving the community for 19 years. We are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats, including routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Our mission is to exceed expectations with every interaction with our clients and patients. We are seeking a passionate and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital and support our team.

Responsibilities

1. Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
2. Restrain animals safely and compassionately.
3. Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and note changes in patient conditions.
4. Collect and prepare laboratory samples.
5. Maintain medical equipment and tools.
6. Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates and questions.

Minimum Requirements

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
3. Knowledge of animal handling and basic medical procedures.
4. Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to work under stress.
5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
