Job summary

Animal Medical Center in Virginia Beach is seeking a compassionate assistant to support doctors and patients in a small animal general practice.

Open to full-time or part-time staff, with required availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and rotating weekends; the team emphasizes family-like support and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and have reliable transportation/childcare.
• Veterinary knowledge/experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Shepherd software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Doctors/Technicians with patient care (restraint, venipuncture, radiology, etc.).
• Cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Collecting history from clients.
• Caring for boarding and hospitalized patients.
• Monitoring anesthetized patients in surgery.
• Preparing lab samples and running in-house tests.

Job description

We are a privately-owned small animal general practice looking to add a new member to our family-oriented, supportive team to help facilitate excellent care of our patients.

Open to those with either full time or part time availability, but candidate must be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends

Qualifications

Assistant duties include

• Assisting Doctors/Technicians with patient care (ie: restraint, venipuncture, radiology, etc.)

Most full-time employees work 3.5 weekdays and rotating weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shifts. We do our best to be flexible with hours and scheduling.
