Who we are

At Perinton Veterinary Hospital, you'll feel the warmth and openness of our clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, efficient, and attentive to detail. Our Veterinary Assistants work alongside Veterinarians (DVMs) and Licensed Vet Technicians (LVTs) during procedures. This part-time position requires working 20-30 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities:

• Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Perform tasks efficiently without rushing.
• Promote a positive attitude among staff.
• Handle stress and pressure with tact and professionalism.
• Educate clients on medical recommendations in person or over the phone.
• Stock exam and treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment.
• Use computer systems to record patient history and update medical records.
• Dispense pharmaceuticals accurately.
• Assist with inventory management, including placing weekly orders and receiving shipments.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in animal husbandry.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; AAS or higher degree preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and stand, squat, reach, and walk throughout the day.

Compensation

Starting hourly pay ranges from $16 to $18, depending on credentials and experience. The final offer will consider your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
