Job summary

VCA Woodford Animal Hospital in Versailles, KY, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Patient Care Team. You’ll support doctors and technicians, help create a positive experience for pets and families, and grow in a collaborative, AAHA-accredited practice.

This full-time role offers hands-on learning, opportunities to advance into technician positions, and a supportive culture that values patient care, teamwork, and continuing education.

Qualifications

• Experience as Veterinary Assistant preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and safely handle pets for exams and treatments.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Assist doctors and technicians with appointments and procedures.
• Collect patient histories and support client communication.
• Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized pets.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital.
• Sterilize instruments and prepare surgical packs.
• Assist with laboratory samples and diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Deliver compassionate care to patients and clients every day.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays.

Compensation: The starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field.
