A growing veterinary practice is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support their team. Responsibilities include patient care, client education, and maintaining a clean environment. The role offers opportunities for advanced training and a supportive team culture.
Veterinary Assistant – Full-TimeAnimal Hospital of Maple Orchard 6066 West Maple Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48322 (relocating to this new facility soon)
Compensation: $15–$19 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, including rotating Saturdays and some evening shifts
Hospital Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
At Animal Hospital of Maple Orchard, we’re excited to welcome a Veterinary Assistant to our growing and supportive team! We are soon moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art 9,000 sq. ft. facility featuring nine exam rooms, a dedicated dental suite, and a CT scanner.
Our five-doctor practice (with one new part-time DVM recently added and two more planned for the future) is focused exclusively on canine and feline care. We pride ourselves on a collaborative and team-first culture, where mutual support and shared goals drive success. While not officially Fear Free certified, we actively implement Fear Free techniques to help our patients feel safe and comfortable during their visit.
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our appointment workflow. Primary responsibilities include:
Safely restraining patients during exams and treatments
Educating clients on vaccine protocols, preventative care, and general wellness
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Assisting with patient prep and monitoring
There are also opportunities to gain advanced training in venipuncture, lab work, and IV catheter placement as part of our commitment to your growth.

Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital
Strong restraint skills and familiarity with medical terminology
A growth mindset, reliability, and a positive attitude
A passion for patient care and teamwork

Full-time team members will be awarded additional PTO based on their years of service.
Holiday Pay 48 hours to apply towards 6 recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day)
*The holiday PTO hours can be used at the team member’s discretion to cover the actual holiday as observed by the hospital or other absences with approval from their Manager.
