Job Description: Veterinary Assistant

SonoVet is a mobile ultrasound consultation service serving veterinarians in San Antonio, Austin & I-35 Corridor of the Hill Country of Texas. We provide diagnostic services to local veterinarians and do not offer exams to the general public.

Advanced clinical ultrasound has become a standard of care in veterinary medicine, providing immediate results that enhance diagnostic efficiency and improve client relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Availability Monday-Friday, 9AM to 5PM
  • Flexible with morning meetup times
  • Driving within the Austin/Kyle, TX area
  • Lifting, handling, and comforting animals
  • Keeping patients still during ultrasound procedures
  • Loading and unloading equipment
  • Setting up and dismantling ultrasound equipment
  • Preparing biopsy needles and slides
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies
Experience:
  • Veterinary assistant: 1 year (preferred)
  • Animal restraint: 1 year (preferred)
  • Driving: 3+ years (required)
Position Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Availability Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM, with flexible meetup times
  • Passion for animals and veterinary medicine
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, ability to work under stress, and team collaboration
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
