As a member of VCAToms River, you will support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Veterinarians with appointments
  • Assisting Veterinarians with surgeries and anesthetic dentistry
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Maintaining medical records
  • Filling prescriptions
  • Providing compassionate care and a "home away from home" for hospitalized pets
  • Providing exceptional customer service for our clients

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant is required; credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred but not required
  • Experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry
  • A positive, encouraging and supportive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility in hours including (but not limited to) evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness and capability to be cross-trained in reception and kennel
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Team player mindset, willing to learn new techniques and treatments
