Friendtown Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional experiences for clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This role covers patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures in a fast-paced clinic in Tipp City, Ohio.

The position offers a full-time schedule with a pay range of $15–$18 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k)

Qualifications

• 3+ years in veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Friendtown Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $15-$18 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday

About us:

Friendtown Veterinary Clinic is located in the charming community of Tipp City, 12 miles north of Dayton and close to Columbus and Cincinnati. We are a 4-doctor, small animal, general practice with a fun-loving team and great longevity. Our support team is primarily cross-trained and our technician team is fully utilized (especially our RVTs!) Our clinic itself is located on 20 acres, about 5 miles from downtown and we welcome a diverse client base. Our primary services include reproduction (not limited to hormone testing and breeding services), c-sections, soft tissue surgery, and general wellness; however, we also provide dentistry, cruciate repairs and more.
