Job description

Summary : The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff, and maintaining quality veterinary care.

Preferred Education / Licenses : Completion of a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Preferred Experience : Ability to perform all required skills outlined in NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant programs to enhance practice efficiency.

The Vet Assistant provides professional, efficient, and exceptional service, ensuring clients and pets are comfortable. Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the flow of patients
• Communicating with veterinarians and vet techs
• Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhering to hospital standards for pet safety and cleanliness
