The Veterinary Assistant will assist with animal care and clinical skill lab preparation under the direction of the designated staff and faculty.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; experience handling dogs and cats.

• Assist faculty in providing clinical and lab experiences efficiently and professionally.
• Prepare laboratories by organizing resources, including faculty, animals, students, equipment, and consumables.
• Assist with lab cleanup.
• Handle, maintain, monitor, and treat animals housed at the DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center.
• Ensure OSHA and USDA guidelines are followed during student activities.
• Maintain medical records for animals used in teaching, complying with all IACUC guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
