Position: Veterinary Assistant

Location: Salem, NY

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Responsibilities

1. Executing treatment orders
2. Performing blood draws and collecting urine samples
3. Administering medications (PO, IM, SQ, SL, IV)
4. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of cages
5. Walking, feeding, and caring for animals
6. Performing housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, garbage)
7. Calculating medication dosages (mg/kg)
8. Creating dosing schedules based on DVM orders
9. Communicating with clients in person and via phone
10. Taking radiographs, performing and reading CBC, Chem, LYTES, urinalysis
11. Restraint and outpatient procedures
12. Filling prescribed medications
