Job summary

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic in Quakertown, PA is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join a busy 24-hour hospital. The role offers day, evening, and overnight shifts with opportunities for additional compensation on qualifying shifts.

You will work closely with veterinarians and technicians to support examination, treatment, and patient care across a busy clinical setting. Experience in veterinary settings is a plus, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians and licensed technicians during examinations and medical procedures
• Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats for treatments and diagnostics
• Preparing patients and equipment for exams, procedures, and surgery
• Collecting laboratory samples and performing basic in-house testing as directed
• Administering medications and treatments under veterinary supervision
• Preparing prescription medications and assisting with refill requests
• Recording patient information, treatments, and charges in the medical record system
• Communicating with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area

What You will do

Additional compensation may be available for qualifying overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.
