Overview

Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are an AAHA-accredited hospital offering advanced services such as in-house diagnostics, ultrasound, orthopedic surgeries, advanced dentistry, chemotherapy, and specialized care for exotics, avian, and wildlife species. Our facility features 14 exam rooms and 7 doctors.

We seek a compassionate, dependable veterinary assistant. Previous experience is preferred, with exotics, avian, and wildlife experience a plus. Strong communication skills and Saturday availability are required.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, high-standard environment that values teamwork and quality patient care.

Compensation

Starting around $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Shift Details

Full-time (4x10-hour shifts), including rotating Saturdays

The Veterinary Assistant supports the medical team by assisting with patient care, medication refills, and other duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicates well, and thrives in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and uphold MVP's Core Values and Mission Statement
• Assist in daily clinic duties
• Participate in cleaning duties
• Provide client care, schedule appointments, handle payments, check-ins
• Maintain excellent client communication
• Record medical and client information accurately
• Review medical records and discharge instructions with clients
• Answer phones courteously and informatively
• Provide patient care under DVM direction

Qualifications

Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills. Ability to remain patient and composed in stressful situations. Confidence around pets. Strong reasoning, memory, math, and communication skills in English.
