Job summary

VCA Animal Medical Center of Pasadena is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The position supports the Doctor and Technician teams in a busy hospital setting, delivering an outstanding client experience and compassionate care to patients.

You will assist in exams, take histories and vitals, perform lab work and imaging, and help with treatments, surgeries, dentals, catheter placement, and anesthesia, while maintaining medical records and a clean work environment.

• Must have experience with treatments, surgeries, dentals, catheter placement, and anesthesia.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and assist during patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Fill prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintain medical records.
• Assist doctors and technicians as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.

Join The VCA Animal Medical Center of Pasadena Team as a Veterinary Assistant!

Location: 5018a Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00
Schedule: Full-time, 38 hours. Rotating shifts Monday - Saturday; rotating weekends.

Must have experience with treatments, surgeries, dentals, catheter placement, and anesthesia.

As a member of the VCA team, you will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent - by delivering an outstanding client experience - so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
