Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital in beautiful Pacifica, CA. We are open to full or part time applicants with Saturday availability required.
Linda Mar Vet is a three-doctor practice that offers a variety of medical services and surgeries. We take pride in serving our coastside communities, from Pacifica to Half Moon Bay and the greater peninsula, since 1985.
Our hospital is outfitted with the latest equipment including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, in-house lab machines and a therapeutic laser. In addition to treating cats and dogs, we also have vets that see pocket pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, etc.).
A veterinary assistant with at least 1-2 years working in the field or with animals in some capacity.
Knowledge of animal anatomy and handling techniques.
Familiarity with veterinary emergencies and critical care practices is a plus.
Computer and internet proficient. Prior knowledge of veterinary or other electronic medical record keeping software is a plus.
Self-motivated, and driven to learn and expand skills.
An energetic team player, understanding the importance of teamwork and effective communication.
Attention to detail and thoroughness in task completion.
Dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care for our patients and clients.
Dependable and consistent.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to commute to Pacifica.
Assisting veterinarians and technicians prepare for and complete examinations, surgeries, treatments and procedures.
Restraining animals safely and effectively.
Administering medications and vaccines under the supervision of veterinarians or registered technicians.
Clean and sterilize instruments, use of aseptic technique
Clean, sterilize, and maintain an organized working environment, including kennels, rooms, and all surfaces.
Prepare and perform basic laboratory tests, assist with diagnostic imaging.
Provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to our animal patients.
Effectively communicate with team members, doctors, and clients alike.
Execute high attention to detail, documenting patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
Saturday availability required (we are closed Sundays)
Part time = up to 3 - 4 days per week, or under 30 hours
Full time = 30 - 40 hours/week, or 4 - 5 days.
Base Salary of $20.00 - 26.00/ hr DOE
Eligible for periodic bonus (based on hospital performance)
