Indraloka Animal Sanctuary is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join their growing clinic. The role involves providing daily animal care, assisting veterinary procedures, and maintaining clinic organization. Ideal candidates are compassionate and reliable individuals with a strong desire to contribute to animal welfare.
This is a part-time position; scheduled hours up to 20 hours per week. We are able to flex depending on the right person’s availability. Shifts will be scheduled Mondays through Fridays (not every day), and 1 weekend/weekend day per month.

Our veterinary clinic is growing again, and we are seeking a kind, dependable, and motivated individual to join our team.
The Veterinary Assistant reports to our Veterinarian and has a broad range of responsibilities. This includes providing daily animal care both in our clinic & on sanctuary grounds as well as keeping the clinic clean & organized.
· Greet clients and patients with a friendly demeanor
· Help with set up for surgical & dental procedures
· Gather necessary supplies for patient office visits
· Assist with holding animals in a fear-free manner for examinations, diagnostic procedures, & treatment
· Monitor patients during anesthesia & recovery
· Prepare samples for diagnostics (i.e. spin down blood tubes, set up for fecals, stain slides for cytology, etc.)
· Fill prescriptions
· Feed clinic animals & patients as well as walk dogs outside
· Sterilize surgery & dental equipment after use
· Clean exam room, surgery suite, & dental area after use
· Clean & disinfect kennels as well as set up kennels for next day
· Manage veterinary equipment
· Handle laundry
· Prepare surgery packs
· Act as an animal caregiver when veterinary medical skills are not called upon
· Back up receptionist
· Other duties as assigned
•An experienced Veterinary Assistant, OR, a malleable unexperienced individual with a strong desire to learn

•Capable of lifting 50 pounds or more
•Tolerable to working outside in every weather extreme
•Happy working independently, but also comfortable working with others

•Extremely observant and able to notice and communicate subtle changes in animals’ appearance and behavior

•Calm under pressure; able to work in a busy and ever-changing environment
Additionally, candidate must have a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass state and federal criminal background checks.

Rotating weekends
