Job summary

Blake & Pendleton Inc. in Northport, ME is seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy two-doctor practice.

You will assist veterinarians and LVTs during appointments, restrain pets with compassionate, low-stress handling, and prepare exam rooms and treatment areas. You’ll also help with lab testing, radiographs, sample collection, and care for hospitalized patients while delivering excellent client service in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary assistant experience is expected.
• Ability to multitask in a busy hospital setting.
• Willingness to learn and grow with the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and LVTs during appointments, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain dogs and cats using low-stress handling techniques.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, and sample collection.
• Care for hospitalized patients and assist with recovery after surgery.
• Provide outstanding client service and collaborate with the team.

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians and LVTs during appointments, treatments, and procedures
• Safely restrain dogs and cats using compassionate, low-stress handling techniques
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
• Assist with laboratory testing, radiographs, and sample collection
• Care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with recovery
• Provide outstanding client service and work collaboratively with the entire team
