Fairview Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Ellenwood, GA. Responsibilities include patient restraint, lab work, imaging, and assisting with anesthesia and surgeries.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred (1+ year).
• Compassionate, calm demeanor; team player and strong communicator.
• Ability to restrain pets correctly.
• Experience with lab samples, histories, tests and radiographs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with triage, patient care, and nursing duties.
• Perform sample collection, lab analyses, and radiographs under supervision.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management as needed.

Fairview Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, small animalpractice located in Ellenwood, Georgia. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients includingPreventative Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Laser Therapy, In-House Diagnostics, High SpeedDentistry, Digital full body and dental radiology, Ultrasonography, and Vacation Boarding.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
