Bensonhurst Veterinary Care (BVC) is the first of two practices that Dr. Stephen Zawie opened in Brooklyn, NY. Our hospital is a small animal general practice open seven days a week to accommodate the needs of our clients and pets. Our sister hospital, Greenwood Veterinary Care, is located just 5 miles down the road. We are proud to offer our clients exceptional customer service and our patients best-in-class care, including wellness and sick exams, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, routine and advanced surgical procedures, dentistry, laser therapy, behavior counseling, daytime emergency or urgent care, and more.

Our hospital is located in Brooklyn, NY. Its proximity to Manhattan provides easy access to the city’s attractions, while still offering a more laid-back lifestyle in one of the outer boroughs. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Pet restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year experience preferred as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker, and strong communicator.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Proficiency in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self-starter with a desire to continue advancing your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $21-$25/hr based on experience
