Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for Astoria Veterinary Group in Astoria, NY. This full-time role supports veterinarians and licensed staff, assisting in pre-op, surgery, and post-op care while maintaining clean, organized treatment areas.

You will educate clients, manage medical records, and handle inventory tasks. A minimum of 1 year in animal care and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required, with HS diploma or higher preferred.

Our Ideal Candidate:

An upbeat, self-starter who is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, and pays attention to detail. Our Veterinary Assistants work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) and Licensed Vet Technicians (LVTs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, with one weekend shift required.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a starting rate ranging from $18-23/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
