Job summary

Moyers Veterinary Hospital in Morristown, TN, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support a fast-paced, multi-doctor small animal practice. Responsibilities include triage, sample collection, lab work, imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
• Proficient in sample collection, lab tests, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets as needed and triage patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; perform diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care to medical and hospitalized patients.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients; assist in surgery.

Moyers Veterinary Hospital is fast paced, well-established multi-doctor small animal practice in Morristown, TN.We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Wellness Services, Preventative Care, Urgent Care, Emergency & Critical Care, GeneralSurgery,Internal/External Medicine, Digital Full Body X-Ray, Ultrasound, Full In-House Laboratory, In-House Pharmacy, Cold Therapy Laser, & more.

Moyers Veterinary Hospital is located in Morristown, Tennessee, which is part of the region known as the Lakeway area.Panther Creek State Park is a1,435-acre park located on the Cherokee Reservoir just outside of Morristown City limits. The Park has 17 hiking trails covering more than 30 miles of terrain at all levels of difficulty. Hikers can enjoy magnificent views of Cherokee Lake and the Cumberland Mountains. There are also more than 15 miles of mountain biking trails and 7 miles of horseback riding trails. A boat ramp offers access to the lake and is great for fishing and water sports.

Nearby Knoxville,Sevierville, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forgeoffer many activities and events for the entire family. Pigeon Forge is home to Dollywood, one of the top theme parks in the country.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experience.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, andanesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Additional Information

Pay range:$12.00 to $16.00 based on experience.
