Position Responsibilities
All team members should be prepared to:
- Provide the highest standard of patient care and client service
- Educate clients on preventive care and recommended veterinary services
- Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgical procedures, dental care, and client education
- Perform initial patient evaluations and communicate findings to the doctor
- Perform technical procedures (IV catheter placement, blood draws, radiographs, laboratory testing, etc.)
- Admit, discharge, assess, feed, clean, medicate, and monitor patients
- Recognize signs of contagious diseases and follow proper protocols
- Safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and organized hospital
- Stay up to date on veterinary products, medications, and their uses
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in the veterinary field
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work 36-40 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and rotating Saturday PM and Sunday shifts
- Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to withstand exposure to odors, animal waste, and noise
- Dependable, punctual, professional, positive, empathetic, and eager to learn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate medical documentation
- Ability to stay calm and focused in emergency situations
- Strong time management, multitasking, and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, and works harmoniously with the team
Work Hours
- Monday – Friday: 6:50 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Rotating Saturday PM and Sunday Shifts Required
