VCA Northwood Animal Hospital is growing, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team in Anderson, IN!

Compensation: Compensation is determined by skill set, license, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hour shift. Not looking for full-time, we are happy to offer part-time.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll have the chance to support both our Primary Care and Urgent Care services. This dual exposure allows you to build long-term relationships with clients while also gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

You'll be an important part of our care team, helping to ensure patients receive the attention they need. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting doctors and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Handling, restraining, and caring for animals safely and compassionately
• Performing TPRs and preparing patients for exams
• Assisting with radiographs, dental cleanings, and basic lab work
• Administering medications and SQ fluids under supervision
• Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining hospital equipment and areas
• Communicating clearly with clients and team members
• Helping with patient discharges and client education
• Supporting hospitalized patient care alongside the technical team

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in an animal care setting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for animals and a desire to learn and grow
