Lisbon Road Animal Hospital in Lewiston, Maine, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant for Saturday urgent care. This role offers a flexible schedule with coverage just 1–2 Saturdays per month and a $5/hour differential on Saturdays, in a supportive, team-based environment.

Experienced Veterinary Assistant – Saturday Urgent Care

Lisbon Road Animal Hospital | Lisbon, Maine
Pay: $20–$23 per hour + $5/hour Saturday differential

Looking for a veterinary position that lets you use your clinical skills without committing to a full-time schedule? Lisbon Road Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Saturday urgent care team!

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants a change of pace from traditional general practice. You'll help care for patients who need prompt medical attention while working alongside a supportive, experienced medical team.

The best part? We're looking for coverage just 1–2 Saturdays per month. You do not have to commit to every Saturday!

Schedule & Compensation

Saturdays only

Hospital hours: 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience, with ER or high-volume experience preferred.
• The ability to stay calm, composed, and efficient during a medical crisis.
• Confidence and skill in handling pets, with proficiency in basic laboratory, pharmacy, and nursing skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
