  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and work along with veterinary technicians and assistants to aid in patient care and treatments.
  • Safely restrain dogs, cats, and other small animals/exotics for examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare examination rooms and treatment areas.
  • Obtain patient histories and assist with client communication.
  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients.
  • Assist with laboratory sample collection and processing.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and assist with surgical procedures as needed.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain hospital equipment and facilities.
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels.
  • Support reception and client service functions when needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.

Position:

Nicholasville Road Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Veterinary Assistants play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians while helping provide exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to our clients.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with animals and people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians and work along with veterinary technicians and assistants to aid in patient care and treatments

Comfortable working around animals, cleaning chemicals, and medical equipment

Schedule:

Monday–Friday 7:55am - 6:00pm (With a scheduled day off during the week)

Rotating Saturdays 7:55am - 12:00pm
