Qualifications

• Experience as veterinary assistant or animal care preferred.
• Ability to safely handle dogs and cats.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop veterinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery.
• Support blood draws, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing.
• Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments under the direction of the veterinary team.
• Monitor and provide basic nursing care for hospitalized patients.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain treatment, surgical, and patient areas.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients.
• Maintain accurate patient information and medical records.
• Work closely with doctors, technicians, and fellow assistants to keep the hospital running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred
• Comfortable safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
• Strong communication and client service skills

• Comfortable assisting with cleaning and maintaining hospital areas as neededExperience with Cornerstone Practice Management Software
