Job summary

Hayden Pet Medical Center in Hayden, ID, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients alongside our outstanding team. This full-time role offers a 4/10 schedule with availability Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays, paying $18–$21 per hour.

You will assist in exams, surgeries, dentistry, and outpatient procedures while maintaining records and educating clients.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs, cats, and large animals
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
• Experience with large animals and exotic species preferred

In this position, you will take an active role in:

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $18 - $21 per hour
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
• Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs, cats, and large animals of varying sizes and temperaments
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
• Experience with large animals and exotic species preferred
