Qualifications

Job description

Emergency Pet Hospital of Craven-Carteret is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant for the overnight position. The candidate must be able to work evenings and overnights. If you are a skilled assistant looking to advance your skills in emergency veterinary care, we want to hear from you.

This hospital is a fast-paced emergency facility dedicated to patient and family care. The successful overnight Veterinary Assistant must be comfortable assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, understanding patient care and treatment plans, critical thinking, monitoring patients, filling prescriptions, animal restraint, performing x-rays and proper positioning, and providing exceptional patient care during evening hours with hospitalized patients.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of emergency veterinary assistant experience
  • Knowledge of Idexx in-house lab equipment
  • Familiarity with Avimark software is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Experience with animal handling and restraint
  • Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
