VCA Conewago Animal Hospital in Hanover, PA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Patient Care Team. If you're passionate about veterinary medicine and want a supportive environment, we’d love to meet you!

In our AAHA-accredited facility, we provide wellness and integrative services; the role involves assisting veterinarians, taking histories, restraining animals, and maintaining exam rooms. A high school diploma and prior veterinary exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting.
• Passion for animals and desire to learn in the veterinary field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures.
• Take patient histories and perform TPRs (temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support charting.
• Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits.
• Support surgery prep and recovery as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment.

Schedule: Full- time opportunity.

Compensation: $ 18 - 20/hr and the starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.
