Grass Lake Animal Hospital in Grass Lake, MI is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role requires comfort in a fast-paced veterinary hospital, with duties spanning exam room prep, patient histories, client communication, and support for veterinarians and technicians.

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with a consistent four-day workweek and a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats.

• Obtain patient histories and communicate effectively with clients.
• Assist with laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, and patient care.
• Greet clients and their pets, creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
• Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to client inquiries.
• Check patients in and out, process payments, and review invoices.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update client information.
• Coordinate medication refill requests and communicate with the veterinary team.
