Fairview Animal Hospital in Ellenwood, GA is seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to join our busy, compassionate team. You will work alongside doctors to deliver patient care across exams, diagnostics, surgery support, and client communication.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of veterinary experience, is calm under pressure, a strong communicator, and a dependable team player. We offer hands-on training and opportunities to grow veterinary skills.

Qualifications

• At least one year of veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience with animal restraint, sample collection, medical histories, laboratory testing, radiographs, surgical assistance, or anesthesia monitoring is a plus.
• Compassionate, calm, patient-focused, dependable team player with strong communication skills.

Job description

Fairview Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive small animal practice in Ellenwood, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. Our hospital provides comprehensive veterinary care, including preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, high-speed dentistry, digital full-body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, and vacation boarding.

We’re looking for an experienced veterinary assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in providing compassionate patient care. This is a great opportunity for a veterinary assistant who wants to continue building clinical skills while working alongside an experienced veterinary team.

As a veterinary assistant, you’ll support our doctors and hospital team throughout the patient-care process. Your day may include:

• Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
• Assisting with patient intake and triage
• Obtaining and documenting medical histories
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs
• Providing nursing care for hospitalized patients with varying levels of stability
• Administering medications as directed
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting during procedures
• Supporting anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
• Communicating treatment plans and recommendations clearly with clients
• Keeping treatment and patient-care areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient

A successful veterinary assistant is comfortable multitasking, communicating with both clients and coworkers, and stepping in wherever help is needed. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of cases and gain experience across multiple areas of veterinary medicine.

Qualifications

We’re seeking a veterinary assistant with at least one year of veterinary experience preferred. Experience with animal restraint, sample collection, medical histories, laboratory testing, radiographs, surgical assistance, or anesthesia monitoring is a plus.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $14 to $18 per hour
