Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or equine care setting preferred.
• Comfortable handling and restraining horses safely in clinic and field settings.

• Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and animal husbandry preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with equine examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and ambulatory farm calls.
• Safely handle and restrain horses during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare equipment, medications, and supplies for in-clinic and field visits.
• Collect laboratory samples, perform basic testing, and maintain medical records.
• Clean and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and vehicles.
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Provide client education on treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with equine and small animal teams to support hospital operations.
