Job summary

Willamette Veterinary Hospital in Corvallis, OR, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant who will support the medical team with hands-on patient care in a full-service, AAHA‑accredited small animal practice and 24/7 emergency hospital. You will work in a state-of-the-art facility with in-house lab, digital radiography, ultrasound, and advanced surgical support.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Calm and efficient approach in fast-paced environments.
• Confidence handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic veterinary skills across labs, pharmacy, nursing and radiology is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care as a key member of the medical team.
• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist with scheduling, payments, and client communications to create a positive experience.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and equipment safety.

You will work with an in-house lab, digital radiography (including dental), ultrasound, a Snyder oxygen cage, blood products, and a therapy laser. We also utilize a CO2 laser for a variety of advanced soft tissue surgeries. We use Cornerstone for our electronic medical records to ensure seamless documentation and workflow. We believe that supporting our teammates is crucial to excellent patient care. Our doctors are supported by a 3:1 support staff-to-doctor ratio, including dedicated ER and ICU technicians who ensure continuity of care. Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant

• Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
• Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: You'll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.
• Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.

What You'll Bring to the Team
