We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients. You will work alongside skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in daily hospital operations. Position Skills

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and setting up for procedures or diagnostic tests.
• Restrain animals safely, efficiently, and compassionately.
• Obtain accurate vitals, medical histories, and note changes in patient conditions for DVMs.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
• Maintain all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient updates and questions.

Position Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays
• Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
• Strong communication skills, good judgment, ability to manage stressful situations, and respectful teamwork
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Pay range: $18.00 - $20.00 based on experience
