Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our 13-doctor practice in Buckhead. We aim to create a real community among staff, clients, and patients while providing preventative, urgent, and emergency care.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, lab work, radiographs, patient monitoring, client education, and supporting veterinarians across visits. A collaborative, caring mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the veterinary field.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-house and outside lab work including urinalyses.
• Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients' vital signs.

• Support veterinarians during preventative, injury, and illness visits.
• Advocate for patients.
• Assist with arranging procedures and instrument care.
• Obtain health history from clients and document in EMR.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

Veterinary Assistant

Description

We are a 13-doctor practice located in Buckhead providing preventative, urgent, and emergency care. At Peachtree Hills, we strive to create a mixture of hard work, fun, teamwork, and a quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Restraint - restrain patients for exams, obtaining samples, ultrasound, radiology, etc.
• Obtain samples - blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory tests
• Laboratory procedures - in-house blood chemistry and hematology, complete urinalysis, cytology of skin and ears, snap tests, as well as processing and submitting samples to an outside lab
• Patient care - hospitalized and critically ill patients: monitoring vital signs, administering medications and/or fluids, etc
• Set up and perform radiographs
• Client education - nutrition, pet care, vaccine protocols, preventatives, etc.
• Support veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary careduring preventative,injuryand illness visits
• Advocate for patients
• Assist withsettingup patient procedures, and surgicalinstrumentand equipment care.
• Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical records
• Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
• Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set

Schedule

• Three to Four – 10-hour shifts; Monday – Friday
• A consistent schedule with a dedicated day off during the week
• No boarding or grooming
