Eastern Carolina Veterinary Referral in Wilmington, NC seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Anesthesiologist to join our high-volume specialty hospital. You will provide advanced anesthesia care for complex cases and collaborate with a wide team, with imaging and interventional capabilities including CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasound.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Anesthesiology or residency training in Veterinary Anesthesiology.
• Strong clinical skills and interest in complex anesthesia and perioperative management.
• Strong communication with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced anesthesia care for complex specialty, emergency, surgical, and interventional cases.
• Collaborate closely with specialists in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, critical care, radiology, medical oncology, neurology, and emergency medicine.
• Support complex procedures utilizing ARISE’s advanced diagnostic and interventional capabilities, including CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasound, and C-arm fluoroscopy.
• Contribute to the hospital’s teaching environment by working alongside residents, interns, and veterinary student externs.
• Partner closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Help foster a culture of mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
