Job summary

Tufts University’s Luke and Lily Lerner Clinic seeks a Veterinary Technician II to provide high-quality anesthesia support, assist clinicians, and educate veterinary students in anesthesia, surgical preparation, and sterile technique. This role collaborates with a busy team across ISAAST and PCP programs within the Lerner Clinic.

The ideal candidate will have AVMA-accredited training plus hands-on veterinary tech experience and strong teaching abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited program plus 1 year veterinary technician experience.
• Able to work independently and handle tasks with supervision when needed.
• Strong veterinary terminology and pharmacology knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and adaptability.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia support and assist with surgical and dental procedures.
• Instruct students and technicians in anesthesia principles and sterile technique.
• Organize orientation for ISAAST and support PCP elective activities.
• Maintain equipment and supplies for anesthesia, surgical, and dental areas.
