Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Instructional Specialist to support Clinical Anesthesia, Surgery, and Surgical Simulation labs. You will provide student-centered instruction and assessment of professional competencies, including safe animal handling, exam skills, venipuncture, IV catheterization, anesthesia planning, induction, maintenance, and recovery.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience teaching in academic or clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Supports live animal surgery course through preparing surgical lab sessions and intra/peri-operative care.
• Preps and maintains surgical supplies and equipment for procedures at multiple sites.
• Supports Clinical Skills labs with student and faculty instruction and setup/cleanup.
• Maintains teaching models, spaces, and equipment for instruction and simulation.
• Delivers direct instruction on veterinary anesthesia and surgery skills in simulations.
• Collaborates with faculty on projects and assists with operational logistics and events.
