Job summary

The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center at Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Advanced Imaging Technologist to join our Radiology team. The role focuses on radiography, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine across diverse species in a busy veterinary teaching hospital.

You will work with radiologists, clinicians, technicians, and students to produce high-quality diagnostic studies, adapt imaging protocols, and mentor colleagues and students while supporting patient

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program and one year of related experience.
• Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
• Possession of current Iowa Permit to Practice.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain advanced imaging equipment.
• Evaluate image quality and adjust techniques for optimal diagnostic studies.
• Maintain quality-control standards per hospital and radiation-safety requirements.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Communicate with clinicians to coordinate imaging needs and priorities.
• Train and guide new employees and veterinary students rotating through Radiology.
