Join our amazing team at Second Chance Animal Services and rekindle your passion for veterinary medicine. We offer a highly sought-after work-life balance, a competitive salary, and much more!

Currently, we are seeking a full-time veterinarian to join our North Brookfield, MA hospital. You would have the opportunity to work in exams, surgery, dentistry, community medicine, or your preferred area of interest. Our experienced team consists of over 20 veterinarians across four hospitals in central MA, offering an incredible opportunity for growth and learning.

About Us:
Second Chance is a leading non-profit organization at the forefront of the "Access to Care" model and dedicated to providing essential veterinary services to pets in need. We offer subsidized pricing to qualified individuals, ensuring every patient receives the care they deserve. Annually, our hospitals and animal shelter collectively serve over 49,000 pets, making a significant impact on many lives.

What We Offer:

  1. Flexible Schedule: Enjoy a four-day workweek for full-time positions or craft a part-time schedule that suits your lifestyle. Our hospitals are open Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends required (although Saturday special community events are occasionally an option).
  2. Cutting-Edge Facilities: Practice with the latest technology, including digital radiographs, ultrasound, a fully equipped diagnostic lab, dental and surgery suites, and more. We empower you with the tools needed to provide the best care.
  3. Team Collaboration: Join a team of over 20 veterinarians at our four hospitals in Springfield, Worcester, Southbridge, and North Brookfield, MA. Focus on your preferred areas—whether exams, surgery, dentistry, or community outreach.
  4. Supportive Environment: Benefit from excellent staff-to-vet ratios and a collaborative support staff. Our well-stocked in-house pharmacy ensures efficient patient care.
  5. Professional Growth: We send most radiographs for secondary interpretation as standard, maintain paperless records with IDEXX Neo cloud software, and offer comprehensive continuing education, including a CE stipend, in-house training, and a CE portal at no cost.

Benefits:

  1. A 403(b) retirement plan (non-profit equivalent of a 401(k)).
  2. Medical benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  3. Generous paid time off, plus 5 days of paid sick leave.
  4. Substantial discounts on pet care for your pets.
  5. Continuing education support and stipends, including 100% paid licensing (MA license and DEA), VIN and Plumb’s memberships, and a professional membership of your choice.
  6. Complimentary employer-paid life insurance.
  7. Qualification for loan forgiveness through the PSLF program.
  8. Relocation incentives for out-of-state candidates.
  9. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and skills.
  10. Extensive mentorship program for new graduates (note: no current mentorship positions available).
  11. Scrub allowance and more!
