Job description

MEDICAL DIRECTOR - THRIVE DECATUR

About You

As a leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and growth. Your influence will shape our vision, foster an exceptional culture, and maintain high standards of care. Partnering with the practice manager and leadership team, you'll develop strategies, implement improvements, and guide our hospital towards excellence in patient and client care, while supporting staff development.

You’ll support and mentor veterinarians at your hospital toward achieving medical excellence and enhancing patient care and outcomes through close collaboration with practice managers and hospital leadership. With our comprehensive support, you'll be empowered to perform at your best. Utilize leadership training resources and mentorship programs to develop your skills and advance your career.

The success of your patients’ care matters to you, and your success matters to us. Our progressive compensation model includes competitive base salaries with production compensation opportunities, plus no negative accrual.

You’re willing and able to lead by example clinically, mentor veterinarians and support staff, perform high quality medicine and surgery, build strong client relationships, and partner with hospital leadership to drive a thriving, collaborative culture.

You're willing and able to balance an active caseload with the responsibilities of medical leadership, and you understand that the best Medical Directors make everyone around them better.

About Thrive Decatur

We’re a general practice hospital located in Decatur, Georgia, focusing on comprehensive primary care, preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and select urgent care services. Our hospital has a collaborative, growth focused environment and a loyal, engaged client base that values gold standard veterinary medicine. We pride ourselves on teamwork, client service, mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement. Compassion, communication, leadership, and medical excellence are all equally important.

Thrive Decatur is located within a charming, family friendly community that offers a welcoming neighborhood feel while remaining conveniently connected to the greater Atlanta metropolitan area. The hospital enjoys a steady and consistently booked client base, with a significant number of clients participating in Thrive Plus membership programs.

Our facility includes four exam rooms, a spacious surgical suite, two dedicated dental stations, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in house laboratory capabilities, and a newly installed ultrasound system that offers exciting opportunities for future growth and expanded services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others, developing teams, and helping shape the future direction of a hospital. You will partner closely with a supportive leadership team, including a recently appointed Practice Manager and Regional Operations leadership, to continue building a culture centered on exceptional patient care, team development, and operational excellence.

We are open Monday through Friday, serving Decatur and the surrounding Atlanta communities.

At Thrive Decatur, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, you will have the support, tools, and resources to elevate your skills. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local community, you will experience the best of both worlds: a genuine local feel with the benefits of Thrive's national resources.
