Veterinarian – High Volume Spay and Neuter Clinic

• Full-time

Position Objective

Provide high-quality, high-volume spay-and-neuter surgeries and other routine services through the mobile clinic.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform surgical sterilizations.
• Oversee and perform surgical monitoring, administer pre‑anesthetic and anesthetic drugs, and conduct post‑surgical monitoring through discharge.
• Administer vaccines to clinic patients.
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, including those of the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

Qualifications

• Degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited university of veterinary medicine.
• Current Virginia veterinary license.
• Three‑years’ experience practicing veterinary medicine.
• Experience in animal shelter medicine, supervision, and program responsibility.
• Experience with high‑volume spay-and‑neuter surgeries.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a DEA controlled‑substance registration.
• Proven effective organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness and ability to travel to various clinic stops throughout Hampton Roads.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record.
